Sudi had over the weekend told Mandago to shelve his Senatorial ambitions and join Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential campaign trail – utterances that have since sparked a political storm.
Even though the upcoming general election is expected to be held on August 9, 2022, as per the constitutional provision, the country has already witnessed intense campaigns from all key presidential aspirants.
The debt is said to be part of legal fees for an ongoing case involving the Access Bank over land ownership row in which the lawyer who sought anonymity is representing them at the Eldoret High Court.
Speaking after hosting the Ambassador of The Kingdom of Netherlands Maarten Brouwer for a courtesy visit in Eldoret, Mandago said for the past 10 years, the country has witnessed tremendous development – all thanks to devolution.
The over 150 doctor-lecturers who are also consultants, medical officers, pharmacists, dentists, post-graduate, and undergraduates are demanding payment of unpaid salaries and allowances amounting to over Ksh200 million.
Speaking on Sunday, during an event in the county, the vocal MP noted that Mandago should leave the Senate seat to youthful aspirants like lawyer Kipchumba Karori and broadcaster Arap Kemei.
