7 Landmarks in Eldoret Town You Should Know

It even becomes hard to explain to the person where exactly to pick you from. That is why it is very important to have an idea of landmark buildings or structures to help you in such situations.

Eldoret, a principal town in the Rift Valley region of Kenya, which serves as the capital of Uasin Gishu County has been growing and developing fast, giving people more reasons to know the town’s landmarks.

We highlight for you the most popular landmark buildings and places in town that will make you pinpoint a location easily:

Moi University Pension Scheme (MUPS) Plaza (Daima Towers)

Popularly known as Daima Towers, MUPS Plaza is the current tallest building in Eldoret town. This unique feature has made it overshadow other buildings and can be easily identified even from a distance.

 

Eldoret’s Daima Towers

Daima Towers is located along the Eldoret-Nairobi highway. It is ranked as the largest and tallest building in the western region. It was established in 2016 and has been completed with 26 floors designed for office purposes. The building’s outlook is painted green and cream.

KVDA Plaza

The Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) is currently the second tallest building in Eldoret town. It is situated in the heart of the town along Oloo Street, just next to the Sirikwa hotel.

It is about 58.96 meters high with 16 floors. KVDA plaza is an easily spotted landmark within Eldoret town, especially for the people who are not familiar with the town. It has its abbreviated name at the top of the roof.

Eldoret White Castle

The building is located along Eldoret-Malaba Highway beside Eldoret town’s matatu main stage.

Being the third tallest building in town, it can be easily spotted even from a distance. It is 33 meters high with 9 floors. As the name suggests, the whole building is painted white with the name on the top of the roof.

Sacred Heart Cathedral

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral is situated along Uganda road, right beside Zion mall and a few meters away from Daima Towers.

It is uniquely structured for easy identification. Its name is broadly written in blue at the entrance and any person walking from a distance can notice it.

Zion Mall

The Zion mall is the most famous mall in Eldoret town, on the basis of it being the first-ever mall.

It is located along Uganda road, just beside the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral and opposite Barngetuny plaza, another landmark in the town. The mall can be easily marked because it’s just along the road.

Nandi Arcade

This is a business center located in the CBD along Oloo Street. It has three floors and as much as it is not among the tallest building in the town, it’s among the oldest and most popular buildings. Nandi Arcade is painted orange and white. It is just opposite the New Fims Center building and Tiryo hotel.

Nandi Park

Nandi Park is located along Kisumu road. It is a leisure and socializing area in town. The park is full of beautiful flowers and trees that make people around enjoy the surrounding. It also has an amazing view of the town streets.
