Construction Works for Multi-Million ACK Plaza in Eldoret Set To Begin

Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit on Friday, December 10, 2021, presided over the official groundbreaking for ACK Plaza in Eldoret town.

Construction works for the 6-floor plaza that will be located next to Zion Mall are now expected to officially begin.

The plot where the ACK Plaza is being built was previously used by mechanics and other Jua Kali artisans that were asked to vacate the area a few months ago to pave way for the multi-million project.

Speaking during the groundbreaking, Ole Sapit said the plaza is part of the Anglican Church of Kenya’s projects that seeks to ensure they are self-sustaining.

“We’re looking at the project to enable us to be institutionally stable and sustainable by engaging in resource mobilization through our own means so that we cut on overdependence of donations. We are not saying we don’t want donation but all we are doing is to have something of our own,” noted Ole Sapit.

According to the Archbishop, the ACK Plaza will cost up to Ksh1 billion for it to be fully complete.

It is targeting to attract a supermarket, small businesses, and shops, eateries as well as offices. The plaza will have basement parking.

“This project will create job opportunities and spur economic development in Eldoret town,” noted Ole Sapit.
