The growth of our economy is dependent on reliable infrastructure to connect supply chains and efficiently move goods and services from one point to another.
The County Executive for Roads Eng. Joseph Lagat on Thursday took time to explain the roles and successes of the department in line with Governor Jonathan Bii’s Nguzo Kumi blueprint while showcasing the County Department of Roads stand at the 2024 Eldoret ASK show.

He explained that the Roads section facilitates linkage between farms and markets and that good roads enable farmers to transport produce from their farms to the markets and processing plants.
He added that the transport section manages the fleet and ensures motor vehicles are fueled and maintained to facilitate the logistics of officers to the grassroots.
The county has also devolved extension services to the ward level so that all farmers are reached.

The Public Works section has been responsible for designing and overall supervision of agricultural infrastructure such as the Agricultural Mechanization Services (AMS) at Chepkoilel, supervising the construction of coolers, markets, stores and other facilities.
Another key section is the fire department which has been responding to emergencies and disasters for the safety of residents of Uasin Gishu and neighbouring counties.
