Don’t Take Sides in Israel-Hamas War! Religious Leaders Tell Influential Nations

A section of religious leaders in Kenya have condemned ongoing killings that have resulted from a renewed fight between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas.

The fight between the two sides has been ongoing for days, leading to the deaths of hundreds of locals from both Israel and the Gaza Strip in the Palestinian territories sides.

But as the fight continues, religious leaders in the country led by the Kenya Fatwa Council (KENFAT) Deputy organizing Secretary Sheikh Abubakar Bini says killings of innocent children and women are unacceptable.

Speaking to Uasin Gishu News, Sheikh Bini said that all nations, regardless of their allegiance, should condemn what is happening in the Israel-Hamas fight.

Killings of children and women should not be allowed to continue. As religious leaders, we are concerned about what is happening in Palestine and Israel,” said the KENFAT Organising Secretary.

He also challenged influential nations across the globe not to take sides in the conflict, but instead work on finding truce between the two sides.

Sheikh Bini argues that once a big nation takes sides, it becomes impossible for it to help solve the issue.

He also noted that the ongoing fights between Israel and Hamas might worsen the global economic situation.

Every nation in this world should know that the Israel-Hamas fight will affect the economy, especially in the African nations. Taking sides makes the situation more dangerous than it is,” Sheikh Bini said.

There is already the Russia-Ukraine war that has affected the global economy and allowing Israel-Palestine issue to drag on will worsen the situation,” he added.

In addition, the FATWA Organizing Secretary says nations depend on each other for economic growth, hence the need to resolve the issue.

Cause of Israeli–Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

He is now asking influential countries not to take sides but instead work on coming up with a plan that will bring to an end the longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine.

The Israeli–Palestinian conflict is an ongoing military and political conflict in the Levant (a large area in the Eastern Mediterranean region of West Asia). Beginning in the mid-20th century, it is one of the world’s longest-continuing conflicts.

Various attempts have been made to resolve the conflict as part of the Israeli–Palestinian peace process, alongside other efforts to resolve the broader Arab–Israeli conflict. However, the efforts have been unsuccessful.
