Keiyo South Member of Parliament Daniel Rono has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to disassociate himself from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
Rono, a key ally of Deputy President William Ruto in the North Rift region says Raila is a burden that the President needs to unload as soon as possible.
According to the legislator, Uhuru’s continued association with the former Prime Minister will leave him dirty.

“I want to tell our president, you cannot carry a burden like Raila, it’s too dirty to carry, it will dirtify you, unload the burden now,” Rono said.
Uhuru has had a close relationship with Raila since the March 8, 2018 handshake, and it has been widely reported that the ODM supremo is his preferred successor.
“It is the 5th time that Raila is looking for the presidency, and you are now busy dirtying yourself by supporting him,” the MP told the Head of State.
“It started with BBI it died, then Jubilee which now in ICU,” he added.

The Keiyo South MP is now asking the President to keep off from the 2022 general election and allow Kenyans to vote for their preferred candidates.
He also asked other party leaders, including the DP not to try to influence how Kenyans will vote for their leaders at the local level.
“The president I want to give you free advice, don’t look for votes for anybody, retire honorably and we will respect you. Give people the opportunity to elect their leaders. I also want to ask DP Ruto, in our region here, to give people the opportunity to elect their leaders.”
