A family in Tairi Mbili on the outskirts of Eldoret town is in agony following the disappearance of their child.
The family is now worried over the life of the child who was a student at St Anthony’s Boys High School, Moiben.
Sarah Kwamboka, mother of the boy says he disappeared a few days after he returned home from school where he had sneaked out.
Kwamboka notes that the boy, Joseph Mugo, was forced to sneak out after a student at the school threatened him.

“He had a disagreement with a student and school and sneaked out on January 29. When I went to school, with him, I was told to take him back home. We talked to him over the weekend but on Monday – when we were to return to school, he went missing,” narrated the tearful mother.
She is now appealing to anybody who might be living with the boy to reach out to her.
The missing boy is a form one student at the school.
St Anthony’s Boys High School Moiben Principal David Arusei however dismissed having knowledge of the student having issues with colleagues at school.

He said they had advised the parent to return home with the boy so that he goes through guiding and counseling, before being allowed back to school.
“It seems the boy had social and peer pressure to join day school. He seemed not comfortable with boarding school,” noted the school principal.
“The school is not aware of claims he was threatened – the student was to come back on Monday and let us know the cause of him sneaking. He never came back and when we called the parent he said they said he had disappeared,” he added.
The family is now hoping to see their child again.
