Getumbe Tells Off Netizens Accusing Him of Promoting Nudity

Controversial gospel singer William Getumbe has hit back at social media critics who have branded his ‘diaper-wearing’ antics as nudity.

Getumbe has been making videos dacing to his hit songs while in diapers.

While the move is aimed at sensitising members of the public over adults with health problems wearing diapers, some Kenyans argue it’s promotion of nudity.

But speaking to Uasin Gishu News, the ‘Yesu Ninyandue’ hit maker questioned why nobody has branded as nudity TV ads on diapers and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

He further said even sportswomen wears almost similar attires but nobody has raised a voice against them.

If my wearing diapers is nude, are those diapers ads done by children not equal to nude? Secondly, from when you were born, you have been watching WWE and guys only wear tunics, even ladies, and its shown in our local TVs, why haven’t you complained,” Getumbe said.

In sports, volleyball ladies wear revealing cloths, why haven’t you complained? Who is abnormal me, or you? You refuse to think and see, and you refuse to even use the slightest of your brain and reason humanly,” he added.

Getumbe’s diaper advocacy

The Eldoret-based singer has been advocating on the need to understand that wearing diapers for some adults is okay for health reasons.

He argues that many are suffering in silence in fear of being victimized for their health conditions.

However, his posts while wearing diapers have been receiving negative comments from some social media users.

Getumbe now wants his critics to keep off his social media pages and his advocacy work.

Kama huna la kusema and you don’t see, stay away from my FB page and all my social media handles,” he said.

The singer has been at the centre of controversies in the recent weeks following the release of two songs.

Many have considered the songs – ‘Yesu Ninyandue’ and ‘Tingiza’ as ungodly.

However, he insists the songs lyrics have nothing wrong, even as the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) push for them to be removed from American video sharing platform – YouTube.

He has already filed a case on court and secured an injunction against MCSK.
