The County Government of Uasin Gishu will next week be conducting a headcount of all its workers.
According to a letter to all staff, the County Secretary Edwin Bett says excercise is part of the comprehensive human resource audit the new administration will be undertaking to ascertain the actual number of workers.
The headcount will be conducted concurrently at the county headquarters and all the six sub counties.
All the county staff have been asked to avail among others their academic certificates, confirmation letter, promotion letters and payslips.
Further they will be required to present marriage certificates or affidavits and birth certificates.
The exercise will be held between September 26 to 30, 2022.
“The exercise will involve physical headcount and staff will be required to avail themselves physically with copies and originals…” read part of internal memo seen by Uasin Gishu News.
Schedule of when and where the audit will be held was also shared with the county staff.
The excercise comes weeks after Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim said the headcount would be conducted to rid any ghost workers.
“We have to do it because some people will say there are ghost workers. Ensure you avail yourselves so that you are not counted as a ghost workers,” Chelilim told County staff during his first meeting with them.
