Health services in Elgeyo Marakwet County are set to receive a major boost.
This is after the biggest public health facility in the county, Iten County Referral Hospital acquired a new ultrasound machine.
According to a statement from the county announcing the new development, the machine will be stationed at the hospital’s emergency unit.

The county said the move will see the wheeling of patients to the radiology unit.
Speaking during a training of medical staff from the casualty and maternity departments, Elgeyo Marakwet Health County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Monica Rotich said this was part of the hospital’s efforts to enhance emergency services at the facility.
ICRH Medical Superintendent Dr Lawrence Kogos said 16 staff from the hospital are currently undergoing intensive training.
Iten County Referral Hospital is a government health facility located in Elgeyo Marakwet county along Iten – Kapsowar road.

The facility was formerly known as the Iten District Hospital.
