Mandago’s Administration Giving Women Opportunities in Major Road Construction

Ziwa residents have lauded the leadership of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson K Mandago, for the successful completion of tarmacked road that loops around Ziwa Trading center.

The new road, the locals say, has given them a reason to expand businesses, and carry out their daily activities in a clean, safe, and secure environment following the completed infrastructure.

Speaking at the site, Mama Edna Chepkemei, a resident of Ziwa township said that the infrastructure is one of its kind and has changed the outlook of the center. She thanked Mandago and urged him to do more of the same projects.

Mandago has done great to the people of Uasin Gishu. I also thank him for giving opportunities to women in such projects, I have witnessed the contractor on-site Ms. Margaret Limo of Joshman constructions deliver the quality road. We educate our children to see them take up such big challenges and contracts in our society. Thank you Uasin Gishu County Government for trusting women to equally do such huge projects at the county,” said Ms. Chepkemei.

Ziwa Trading center set for an upgrade to Township status is an essential service provider to the people residing, trading, and getting Government services there.

Resident Engineer for the project Eng. David Rop while on an inspection of the project, said that the tarmacked road was greatly delivered and the road workmanship was executed to the required standards by the contractor.

Margaret Limo who delivered the project at Ziwa thanked the County Government of Uasin Gishu for giving women and youth opportunities in projects through competitive applications.

I have had a very smooth relationship with the supervision team and have been able to deliver the work at a record 3months. I encourage women and youth to apply for these contracts,” said Ms. Limo.

Looking forward to upgrading several trading centers to Township levels, Uasin Gishu County has tarmacked roads at Moisbridge trading center, Burnt Forest Trading center, and the latest beneficiary being Ziwa Trading Center.
