Noble Sacco Feted Best Taxpayer in North Rift

Eldoret-based Noble Sacco society is among organizations that have been awarded Presidential Distinguished Taxpayers’ Awards for the year 2020/2021.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday presided over an awards ceremony organized by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to fete taxpayers that had contributed to the government’s revenue collections through tax compliance.

Noble Sacco was named the top taxpayer in the North Rift region.

The Sacco was registered in 1977 as Wareng Teachers Sacco Ltd. At the time of registration, it had a membership of 674 and a share capital of Kshs56,000.

As of the end of the 2019 financial year, the total membership of the Noble Sacco society was 12,000 with Share capital standing at 136M and Members Deposits at Kshs1.5 Billion.

The Sacco has also won several awards for its outstanding performance, product and service diversification, and prudent management.

Busia Sugar Industry won the top taxpayer award for Western Kenya while De Ruiter EA won the award for the South Rift region.

Other organizations that were feted include; the Kenya Defence Forces that was gifted with the Most Facilitative Government Agency in Tax Enforcement and Recovery, Kenya Trade Network Agency (Most Facilitative Customs Taxpayer), Standard Chartered Investment Services Limited (The Highest Corporation Tax Yield) Teachers Service Commission (Top Public Sector Agency), and Safaricom that was gifted the Top Large Taxpayer award.
