Oscar Sudi Hits Back at Uhuru Over ‘Kazi Haifanywi Juu ya Gari’ Remark

Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has hit back at President Uhuru Kenyatta following his recent utterances seen as aimed at his deputy William Ruto.

Speaking during an event in Mombasa on Monday, the president was quoted saying “kazi haifanywi juu ya gari, inafanywa kwa maofisi”, a statement that many political pundits have said was directed at the DP.

The DP has been going around the country, as he popularizes his presidential bid, and has since fallen out with the head of state.

But in response to Uhuru, Sudi said it was because of people standing on the top of the vehicles that he (Uhuru) was today in office.

“Wewe kuanzia 2002 ulisaidiwa, ukasukumwa na watu hawakua wanasimama ndani ya gari. Wamekua wakisimama juu ya gari ndio ukapata hiyo kazi,” the vocal MP said in a brief video posted on his official Facebook page.

The MP who is a close ally of DP Ruto further reminded the head of state that his time is almost up.

He is serving his second and last term as the head of state – and constitutionally, the President is not eligible to vie for another term.

“Harakisha sababu wakati umeisha, wakenya wako na shinda mingi. Wakenya wako broke Watu wanahangaika,” Sudi said in reference to the current hard economic times that many Kenyans are facing.

“Kama kuna project unataka kufanya harakisha,” he added.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been seen as leaning towards the ODM leader Raila Odinga ahead of the August 9 poll.

Even though he has not yet publicly endorsed the former Prime Minister for the presidency, all indications are that it is just a matter of time before he does so.

DP Ruto camp has been hitting out at Raila, branding him a ‘state project’ due to his close links with the President.
