The security team in Uasin Gishu County has assured club owners and locals that their security is guaranteed, especially during this festive season.
According to the Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Ayub Ali, they have made arrangements aimed at dealing with any criminal elements that will be out to disrupt peace and terrorize locals, as well as revelers in entertainment joints.
Speaking to the press after a meeting that brought together senior police officers and club owners from across Eldoret town, Ali also expressed the need for all Covid-19 protocols to be fully adhered to, even as people enjoy the festive season.

“We held a meeting with club owners because we want to ensure there is security during this Christmas season and New Year celebrations. Safety for the members of the public has always been our priority,” said the County Police boss.
He also revealed that club owners had agreed to ensure their customers fully comply with Covid-19 protocols including wearing face masks, washing hands regularly, and keeping social distance.
Ali also admitted that they have had laxity in adhering to the protocols, but said with the emergence of the new variant – Omicron, there was a need for the measures to be revisited.
“We must ensure safety for all. Club owners have admitted that they have not been adhering to the protocols but we will need to be serious now as we head to the festive season,” said the County Police Commander.

Some of the club owners who spoke during the meeting said they were ready to implement all the measures discussed and agreed upon.
“We are happy with the outcome of this meeting. We have discussed security during this festive season and issues related to Covid-19 and we have been given guidelines which we are happy to stick to,” said Mr. Tum, the director of Asmara Lounge, Kapsoya.
