Eldoret is the administrative capital of Uasin Gishu County with an estimated population of over half a million people.
A 2019 census ranked Eldoret town among the fastest growing and top five most populated urban centres in the county.

Here are some of the popular estates in Eldoret town, and a look at how much it cost for rent;
ELGON VIEW
It is located in the southern part of Eldoret town. Elgon view estate is associated with the affluent and is mainly dominated by politicians and athletes.
The estate is ten minutes’ drive from the town centre. Within the estate, there are several hospitals among them Top Hill Hospital, multiple hotels, including Boma Inn and and schools.
KAPSOYA
It’s dominated by the middle class people. It has the best security. Hospitals, schools and churches are also available in the estate.
Rentals within Kapsoya estate are mainly one bedroom and two bedroom, and even three bedroomed with rent ranging from Ksh8,000-15,000 for a one bedroom and 18,000-20,000 for a two bedroom.
PIONEER
This is the nearest estate from town. It takes approximately 5 minutes’ walk from town. Pioneer estate is dominated by students from different colleges and universities.
It’s also a business center with various businesses such as hardware’s and companies such as Brookside Diaries, Toyota and CMC showrooms.
KIMUMU
It is located approximately 4 km from town along Eldoret-Iten road. It has different medical facilities and schools.
Kimumu estate is easily accessible by public transport.
LANGAS
This is biggest residential estate in Eldoret town having an estimated population of over 200,000 people. It’s located along Eldoret-Kapsabet road.
Langas estate is known for its cheap lifestyle, cheap rental houses and cheap means of transport that makes it suitable for many people. Insecurity is however a major problem due to increased population.
WEST INDIES
It is mainly dominated by the middle and upper class, with its residents being mainly Asians due to its proximity to a temple. It is accessible through public means of transport, and it is located near the Eldoret-Malaba road.
MWANZO
The estate has a several businesses and is mainly dominated by students and the middle class.
HURUMA
It’s one of the oldest estates in eldoret. Located along Eldoret-Malaba road. Huruma estate accessible through public means of transport. Rentals prices range from Ksh3,500 to Ksh5,000 for a bedsitter, Ksh6,000-10,000 for a one bedroom and Ksh11,000-15,000 for a two bedroom.
MAILI NNE
The estate is a bit far from town and it takes almost 20 minutes’ drive. Located along Eldoret-Malaba road, rent for this estate range from Ksh3,500-5000 for a bedsitter, Ksh6000-10000 for a one bedroom and 11,000-15000 for a two bedroom
ACTION
It’s mainly dominated by students and it’s very near from town, with 20 minutes’ walk and 5 minutes’ drive .Its located along Eldoret-iten road.
Rent range from Ksh5000-7000 for a bedsitter and Ksh8000-12000 for a one bedroom
MUNYAKA
The estate is located off Eldoret-iten road and it has a big population. Munyaka has cheap rental houses ranging from Ksh3500-5000 for a bedsitter, Ksh6000-8000 for a one bedroom house and between Ksh8000 to 15000 for a two bedroom.
It has low living standards and cheap public means of transport. Insecurity is also a major problem in Munyaka.
