Governor Jonathan Bii Sacks CECM Joseph Lagat, Nominates Loice Jelimo C. Murrey to Replace Him

Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has announced changes aimed at strengthening his executive leadership.

In a media release issued Thursday, April 9, 2026, Governor Bii Chelilim named Loice Jelimo C. Murrey as the nominee for County Executive Committee Member in charge of Public Service Management, Administration and Devolved Units.

Her appointment is subject to approval by the County Assembly.

Murrey, if approved, will replace Joseph Lagat who has effectively been sacked.

Lagat had previously served as the Roads and Urban Development CECM before he was moved to the Public Service docket.

According to Governor Bii, the nominee brings more than two decades of experience in Kenya’s public sector.

She holds a Master of Education degree from Beijing Normal University and a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University.

She previously served as a County Director with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) across several counties, including Elgeyo Marakwet, Vihiga, Laikipia, and Makueni.

During her tenure, Murrey oversaw operations in human resource management, staff deployment, budgeting, and intergovernmental coordination, earning recognition for her results-driven leadership.

In a related move, the governor appointed Winnie Ndalut as the Gender and Financial Inclusion Advisor.

Ndalut holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Eldoret and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Leadership and Management.

She is recognized for her work in community empowerment programs, particularly in advancing women’s economic inclusion.
