According to Wanjala, EJAF partnered with Zipline for an innovative program to expand young people’s access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services through decentralized, service delivery.
Speaking at celebrations to mark World Aids Day, Homa Bay County Aids Control Coordinator Stephen Obunga said the county, which is currently ranked as the county with the highest infection rate among youths, has set itself on the trajectory of scaling down the infection rates.
Speaking at the event held at the county Headquarters, Governor Bii said “Aligned with my Nguzo kumi Manifesto, this initiative emphasizes bottom-up strategies to combat diseases and improve healthcare access.”
Speaking during the official opening of the wing, Governor Bii highlighted his administration’s commitment to prioritizing healthcare services by sharing his vision of expanding the services available to residents, including the installation of dialysis, dental, and X-ray facilities.
The governor spoke during the launch of wellness week where he expressed the need to spearhead initiatives such as frequent team-building events by fostering not only health but also a sense of solidarity among the staff.
The National Transfusion and Transplant Bill, of 2023, seeks to establish the Kenya Blood Transplant Authority that will be mandated to among others organize, and coordinate blood, cells, tissues, and organ supply networks.
