Registration for the race, billed as the highest paying marathon in Africa is currently ongoing.
Local athletes are required to pay Ksh 1,500 as registration fee and 100 US Dollars for foreign athletes.

Organised under the theme ‘Climate Action’, Eldoret City Marathon is also recognised as an Abott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group Qualifier.

The total prize money for the Eldoret City Marathon is Ksh 18 million, making it the highest-paying in Africa.
The race awards cash prizes for top 20 athletes in both men and women’s category.
Winners walk away with Ksh 3.5 million for both men and women’s race with those finishing second getting Ksh 1.5 million.
Third placed athletes in the Eldoret City Marathon race are usually awarded Ksh 1 million.
