962,512 candidates sat for the examinations across the country.

How many scored As in 2024 KCSE?

Data shared by the Education CS indicates that 1,693 candidates scored straight As, an improvement from 1,216 that was registered in the 2023 KCSE.

In addition, 246,391 candidates attained a university entry level of C+ and above which represents 25.5 per cent of the learners that sat for the exams last year.

In addition, almost half of the candidates scored an entry mark to TVET institutions of at least C- which are 476,889 (49.41%).

605,704 candidates scored a mean score of D+ and above which represents 62.76 percent of all the candidates.

How many candidates had their results cancelled?

Sadly, 840 candidates will not be getting their results this year. The CS said the candidates were involved in examination malpractice.

A further 2,829 candidates will have to wait longer before they can know their fate. This is after their results were withheld for suspected involvement in cheating.

The said candidates’ results have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations,” CS Ogamba said.

The probe, according to the CS will be concluded within the next 30 days.

How to access 2024 KCSE results

The government has maintained a new mode of accessing the results for learners and parents through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website.

This is contrary to past practice where the exams could be accessed via SMS.
