URWASCO Announces Water Supply Interruption in Kesses Sub-County, Calls for Public Participation

Uasin Gishu County Rural Water and Sanitation Company (URWASCO) has announced a temporary interruption of water supply from Nabkoi Water Treatment Plant, affecting several areas in Tarakwa ward, Kesses Sub-County.

In a public notice on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, URWASCO said the shutdown will impact residents and facilities in Kapilat, Kitingia, Ceng’alo Dispensary, Chereber, Cherus, and Cheboror.

The utility did not specify the duration of the interruption or the exact date it will begin.

Public participation on Kesses water security

Alongside the notice, URWASCO has called for public participation on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Lain’guse Chiefs Office, Tarakwa. The forum will focus on security issues affecting water systems in the area.

The Managing Director urged affected residents to attend and share views on how to protect water infrastructure from vandalism and other threats.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding,” URWASCO stated as it advised residents in the affected areas to store adequate water ahead of the disruption.
