Aspiring MCA for Simat/Kapseret Ward (2027), Brian K. Matelong, has commended Youth For Kenya (YK-27) for its ongoing efforts to empower young people through sports and community development.
Speaking in support of the Youth For Youths Friendly match at Simat Primary School, Matelong praised the event’s focus on unity, wellness, and civic engagement under the inspiring theme “One Youth, One People, One Uasin Gishu.”
The match brought together two strong local teams, Lemook FC and Kaptinga FC in what was a thrilling display of talent, teamwork, and community pride.
“May the true victory be in the spirit of unity, peace, and friendship that binds our youth,” Matelong said.
Beyond the football field, the event is a beacon of service and social empowerment, featuring impactful community activities such as a medical camp providing free healthcare services to enhance community well-being, national ID registration drive and voter registration exercise where young being are being mobilised to take an active role in leadership and decision-making.
These activities align closely with the aspiring MCA’s leadership philosophy one anchored in bold vision, new governance, limitless possibilities and a brighter future.
He also reaffirmed his belief that youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but key contributors to development today.
