The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is set to hold nominations to pick candidates for various elective positions whose by-elections are slated for November 27, 2025.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will be holding by-elections for six Members of Parliament positions which fell vacant after either the death of the office holders or their nomination to state offices.
They include Magarini, Ugunja, Kasipul Kabondo, Banisa, as well as Mbeere North constituencies.
IEBC has also scheduled by-elections for over 15 MCA positions, among them Tembelio ward, whose then ward rep, Evans Kapkea, resigned to take up the Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor position.
Kapkea replaced Eng John Barorot, who resigned

UDA will hold nominations for the by-election, alongside those for Metkei ward in Elgeyo Marakwet and Chemundu/Kapng’etuny on September 20, 2025.
UDA aspirants for the Tembelio by-election
The Tembelio ward by-election has attracted at least seven candidates seeking the UDA ticket. Only one woman is in the race.
They are:
- Emanuel Kiprop Lagat
- Reuben Kigen Tobosei
- Nicholas Koech
- Nahashon Kipsiro
- Grace Jemutai
- Timothy Lelmet
- Moses Kiptoo Kibet
- Emanuel Kimutai Toroitich
Other wards in the North Rift region where UDA will be fielding candidates for the by-election include Lake Zone and Naanam in Turkana county.
