Emergency Plus Medical Services, Crown Paints Injects Ksh3.5m Boost as Kenya Prepares for HSBC SVNS2

Emergency Plus Medical Services has come on board as a key support partner for the 2026 HSBC SVNS2 after committing Ksh 1.5 million towards emergency medical care for the tournament scheduled for February 14 and 15 at Nyayo Stadium.

The support is set to play a crucial role in safeguarding players, officials and spectators during the global sevens event as Kenya continues to cement its status as a trusted host of major international rugby competitions.

Through this partnership, Emergency Plus will provide comprehensive on-site medical coverage, including specialised emergency personnel and advanced life support equipment.

The presence of a fully equipped medical response team is expected to enhance the overall safety standards of the tournament, ensuring swift and professional response to any medical situations that may arise across the two-day event.

This support aligns with World Rugby requirements and strengthens the tournament’s operational readiness at an international level.

Emergency Plus Medical Services is the largest private provider of emergency medical and pre-hospital care in East and Central Africa.

With a wide fleet of modern ambulances staffed by highly trained paramedics, the organisation has been at the forefront of emergency care since 2010. It operates as a fully owned subsidiary of the Kenya Red Cross Society.

How much has Crown Paints supported KRU with for HSBC SVNS2?

Earlier, the Kenyan Rugby Union received a KSh 2 million sponsorship of the event from Crown Paints.

The partnership was officially unveiled on January 28, 2026, at the RFUEA Grounds in a ceremony that brought together key stakeholders from both Crown Paints and the Kenya Rugby Union.

Beyond the figures, the collaboration signals shared belief in the power of rugby to inspire communities and elevate the local sporting scene.

Speaking during the launch, Crown Paints Chief Operations Officer Richard Muturi reflected on the journey that led to the partnership, noting that it had been built steadily over the last year.

This journey began a year ago, and it has been a very positive one,” he said, adding that Crown Paints was excited and honoured to be part of Kenya hosting the inaugural leg of the HSBC SVNS2.

Muturi also wished the Kenya Lionesses and Shujaa well, while expressing confidence in the organising committee to deliver a successful tournament.

He pointed out that the sponsorship goes beyond financial support, stressing that brand involvement in community development is something Crown Paints takes great pride in.

Kenya Rugby Union Chairperson Harriet Okach welcomed Crown Paints back on board, describing the renewed support as a sign of trust and long-term commitment to Kenyan rugby.

Importance of sponsorship for HSBC SVNS2

She noted that the partnership had grown over time, from the World Series to Safari Sevens and now the HSBC SVNS2, a journey she said the union is deeply grateful for.

According to Okach, such collaborations play a key role in strengthening the game and ensuring Kenya continues to host world-class events.

With the backing of partners like Emergency Plus Medical Services and Crown Paints, the stage is set for a memorable debut of the HSBC SVNS2 on home soil.

All eyes now turn to Nyayo Stadium, where top-tier rugby action and a celebration of the sport await fans this February.
