The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has celebrated the launch of Emirates’ third daily flight to Nairobi, ahead of the airline’s scheduled commencement of the additional daily service on 1st July 2026.
The launch ceremony was graced by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Teresia Mbaika, Principal Secretary, State Department for Tourism, Julius Bitok, United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Kenya, Dr. Salim Ibrahim Alnaqbi, Emirates Country Manager, Christophe Leloup, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Managing Director, Moses Wekesa, alongside other senior government and aviation industry officials.

According to KAA, the introduction of a third daily Emirates service is a strong vote of confidence in Kenya as a premier destination for tourism, trade, and investment.
Increased flight frequencies, KAA noted, are instrumental in expanding international connectivity, offering travellers greater convenience and flexibility, boosting visitor arrivals, facilitating trade and investment, and further strengthening Kenya’s position as Africa’s gateway.

“We congratulate Emirates on this significant milestone and look forward to strengthening our enduring partnership as we continue connecting Kenya to the world,” the authority said.
“Three daily flights. Greater connectivity. A stronger gateway to Africa,” it added.
PS Bitok said the latest move will go along way towards helping the country achieve its targeting of at least 5 million visitors by 2028.
