Four new Trans Nzoia County Executive Committee Members took the oath of office on Thursday, September 24, 2025, in the presence of Governor George Natembeya.
In a ceremony held at the Town Hall county offices, the four, Kerio Lorot (Water and Environment), Pius Gumo (Lands), Eliud Tormoi (Gender and Youth), and Robert Wamalwa (Public Service Management) promised to diligently discharge their duties.
Lorot takes over from Boniface Wanyonyi, who was relieved of his duties by the Governor Natembeya while Gumo replaces Janerose Mutama, who was moved to the Education docket.
Wamalwa, on the other hand, takes over from Julia Ruto, who was also dismissed by the appointing authority, while Tormoi comes in following the sacking of Stanley Kirui.

Addressing the media after the event, Governor Natembeya said he is reconstituting his cabinet due to incompetence on the part of some members.
“A cabinet member must learn and understand their roles once, but we cannot keep repeating the same instructions,” he said.
The new members were vetted and approved by members of the Trans Nzoia County Assembly.
He added that the changes were also necessitated by the impending expiry of the contracts of the CECMs.
In this regard, the Governor disclosed that he has requested some of the current members who wish to be reconsidered to make fresh applications.

Meanwhile, Governor Natembeya revealed that one of the cabinet members has not expressed interest in renewing her contract.
Reports from the county assembly indicate that it has received the name of Zablon Obiri to be vetted for the position of CECM for the Department of Roads and Public Works.
