The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kipchumba Murkomen has flagged off the fourth contingent of National Police Service (NPS) officers for the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM), in Haiti.
Addressing the Officers, Murkomen expressed confidence in the officers’ capability to deliver in their mission of securing Haiti state while noting that the noble cause is backed by the United Nations and International Community.
Equally, the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja noted that the additional Officers will continue working closely with the Haitian National Police and other MSSM teams.

The elite Officers drawn from NPS Formations and Units will join the first three contingents deployed last year and early this year in the Kenyan-led mission alongside other officers from Jamaica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Bahamas, and Belize.
Also present during the flag-off event were the Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo, his Foreign and Diaspora Affairs counterpart Dr. Korir Sing’oei, National Security Advisor Amb. Dr. Monica Juma, Consul-General to Haiti Noor Gabow, Deputy NSA/Former IG Joseph Boinnet, KQ Chief Operating Officer, Kamal George and other senior NPS Officers.
The Officers fly to Haiti days after the United States halted its financial support to the Haiti Mission.

However, the Kenyan government and the UN have insisted that the decision by President Donald Trump’s administration will have no impact on the Mission.
