The transformation of Tagore Street in Eldoret is taking shape, with cabro paving and beautification works progressing steadily under the Kenya Urban Support Programme Phase II (KUSP II).
The project is replacing the previously unpaved and dusty walkway with a modern, durable and all-weather pedestrian access route.
Works include site preparation, grading, subgrade improvement and compaction, installation of the stone aggregate base and bedding layer, followed by precise laying and compaction of interlocking cabro blocks.
Uasin Gishu Primary School and Uasin Gishu Senior School are among the key beneficiaries of the improved pedestrian infrastructure, which will enhance accessibility for learners and the surrounding community.
The project forms part of the broader urban renewal and beautification programme being implemented by the City of Eldoret.
This is in line with the Nguzo Kumi development agenda of Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim, which prioritises modern urban infrastructure and public spaces for a cleaner, greener, safer and more vibrant Eldoret.
