Nurses from Uasin Gishu County continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, compassion, and integrity in healthcare.
Nurses are guided by the timeless pledge — “I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug. I will do all in my power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession, and will hold in confidence all personal matters committed to my keeping and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the practice of my calling.”
During the 67th International Annual Scientific Conference, Uasin Gishu nurses made a remarkable impact by sharing valuable insights and knowledge with delegates from across the country and beyond.

The event, held in collaboration with the County Government of Uasin Gishu, Moi University’s Africa Health Collaborative Project, and the Mastercard Foundation, reaffirmed the vital role of nurses as the heartbeat of the health profession — inspiring innovation, leadership, and excellence in nursing and midwifery.
Speaking during the conference, Director of Nursing Services Betty Chirchir lauded the unwavering commitment of nurses to continuous professional development.
She also emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, mentorship, research, and digital capacity-building as key pillars for advancing healthcare delivery and strengthening nursing leadership.
Chirchir further noted that such initiatives not only empower nurses with new knowledge and skills but also enhance the quality of patient care across the county.
The conference served as a powerful reminder that the nursing profession — deeply rooted in ethics and service — continues to evolve through education, collaboration, as well as innovation, ensuring that the pledge to serve humanity with excellence remains a living promise in every healthcare setting.
