Christians Urged to Follow Correct Biblical Teachings

Christians across the county have been advised to stick with biblical teachings to avoid falling victim to fake preachers.

Full Gospel Churches of Kenya (FGCK) preachers from the North Rift region argue that it is only through following biblical teachings that can Kenyans safeguard themselves against false teachings.

Led by Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Bishop Christopher Chirchir, the preachers have also advised Christians to work on understanding the bible.

By Christians understanding the right biblical teachings, they will be safe from false prophets,” said Bishop Chirchir.

He spoke to Uasin Gishu News at the Central Primary School Grounds in Eldoret where the church will be holding a three-day annual conference.

The theme for the conference is ‘Revival and reformation’ – picked based on the current events that have been witnessed in the country relating to religious organizations.

Revival and reformation is part of Christians understanding the bible better. We encourage the people of God that there is revival in God once again even after you fall short on the way,” said the FGCK Bishop who is in charge of the planning committee for the conference.

True teachings of Christ

At least 3,000 faithful are expected to attend the conference.

The conference covers FGCK within Elgeiyo Marakwet, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia and Nandi Counties.

We are giving out, as Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, the correct biblical teaching and we want to ensure our members and public that we are going to preach true teachings of Christ,” said Bishop Chirchir who was flanked by other bishops from the region.

Kenya is still reeling from the now infamous Shakahola cult massacre that has seen at least 400 bodies exhumed from the Shakahola forest.

The incident has since elicited mixed reactions with the President setting up a taskforce that seeks to collect views from stakeholders on the regulation of religious organizations.
