Detectives in Trans Nzoia have arrested a man accused of killing his 35-year-old brother after a family dispute turned violent.
According to a statement from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the victim was rushed to Brown’s Hospital in Kiminini the morning after the fight but was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was moved to Kiminini Cottage Mission Hospital Mortuary where it is being held pending autopsy.
Detailing the incident, the DCI said: “It all unfolded on August 5, 2026, at Mbai Farm Village in Kiminini Sub-County, when Nelson Wanundu allegedly got into a physical confrontation with his brother, Isaack Walumoli, following a disagreement.”
After the death was confirmed, the suspect disappeared from the village, prompting DCI Kiminini to launch a manhunt.

He was eventually tracked down in Kitale.
“Acting on actionable intelligence, detectives trailed him to Kitale Town, where they arrested him,” the statement said.
Walumoli was escorted to Kiminini Police Station where he remains in custody pending arraignment.
The DCI added: “The DCI remains committed to conducting through investigation and ensuring that justice is served.”
