Kenyans will have to dig deeper into their pockets for the next month. This is after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced fuel price increases in its latest review.
EPRA stated on January 14, 2025, that the prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene will increase.
Kerosene-using households and diesel-powered car owners will feel the greatest pinch, with the prices of the two commodities increasing by Ksh2 and Ksh 3 per litre, respectively.
“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene increase by KShs.0.29/litre, KShs.2.00/litre and KShs.3.00/litre respectively,” the authority announced.
The new prices will be in effect nationwide from January 15, 2025, to February 14, 2025.

“In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail at Kshs.176.58, Kshs.167.06 and Kshs.151.39 effective midnight for the next 30 days,” EPRA said.
According to the authority, a litre of Super Petrol will retail at Ksh 176.62 in Eldoret and Ksh 175.80 in Nakuru.
The pump price for diesel has been set at a maximum of Ksh 167.65 in Eldoret and Ksh 166..63 in Nakuru while a litre of Kerosine in Eldoret will now be sold at Ksh 151.82 in Eldoret and Ksh 151.01 in Nakuru.
“The prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020,” EPRA said.
