A major highlight of the report was the fund’s success in cultivating a culture of creditworthiness and savings. Out of the total borrower base, 10 million are repeat customers. Of these, 4.5 million have achieved “A” and “B” credit scores, a testament to their consistent borrowing and repayment behaviour.

Furthermore, borrowers have collectively saved KSh 7 billion through the Hustler Fund platform, fulfilling a core mandate of the fund to mobilise national savings alongside providing credit.

President Ruto expressed particular pride in the fact that these significant milestones were achieved entirely on a digital platform. The complete digitisation of processes has allowed for efficiency and scale that traditional banking models struggle to match.

We will continue resourcing the fund so that Kenyans can continue accessing the most affordable credit in the country,” President Ruto stated, signalling that the government intends to inject further capital into the initiative to sustain its growth trajectory.CS Oparanya cobersing with President Ruto at State House Nairobi.

The administration’s focus on digital infrastructure appears to be yielding substantial dividends, reducing the cost of credit while simultaneously encouraging financial discipline among millions of Kenyans who previously lacked access to formal financial services.

With 10 million repeat users and a growing pool of high-scoring borrowers, the Hustler Fund is cementing its position as a cornerstone of Kenya’s financial inclusion strategy.
