FKF Launches 2025 Jersey Design Competition

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has unveiled the 2025 Jersey Design Competition, inviting talented creatives and designers to leave their mark on Kenya’s national football teams.

FKF, in a statement on Thursday, April 3, 2025, said the competition provides a unique opportunity for designers to showcase their creativity while contributing to the national teams’ identity on the global stage.

Participants are encouraged to incorporate cultural and national elements into their designs while ensuring that the primary colors reflect Kenya’s national flag: Black, White, Red, and Green. These colors hold deep significance and represent Kenya’s rich heritage and unity,” FKF said.

FKF Jersey Design Competition Timeline and Submission Guidelines

The competition runs from Tuesday, April 1, 2025, to Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Late entries will not be accepted.

  • Each designer is allowed one submission only. Any attempt at canvassing or making
“confidential” submissions shall lead to automatic disqualification.
  • Each candidate will be restricted to a single entry, which must be the candidates original piece
    created by the submitting candidate.
  • Candidates must submit as part of their submissions, a declaration that the submitted design has not been previously submitted to any other entity or competition.
  • Submissions can be in the form of painted illustrations or designs overlayed onto a jersey sample.
  • Designers are also required to include a brief description explaining the significance of their design and its connection to football and the nation.

The competition is open to Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 35 years.

FKF Jersey Design Competition prizes

An independent committee will review all submissions and select the top three designs. The winners will receive:

  • Winner: Ksh 150,000
  • Runner-up: Ksh 100,000
  • 2nd Runner-up: Ksh 50,000

While the winning designs will become the property of FKF, non-selected entries will remain the intellectual property of the respective designers.

The top three winners must sign a declaration form transferring all copyrights and intellectual property rights of the design to FKF.

Additionally, they will waive any claims to royalties from the sale or use of their designs on FKF merchandise and national team jerseys.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a lasting impact on Kenyan football while showcasing your creativity,” FKF said.
