KRA Moves to Resolve Disruptions at Eldoret Kenya Pipeline Depot

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has temporarily deployed additional staff at the Eldoret Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Depot.

According to KRA, the move is part of efforts to aimed at enhancing service delivery and mitigating operational disruptions following concerns that were recently raised by traders.

KRA is also finalizing the system integration and re-engineering of the transit process to boost efficiency,” the agency said in a statement on Friday, July 4, 2025.

The traders had complained over inefficiency, downtimes and truck congestion at the depot.

Following the concerns, KRA, Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and other stakeholders held a meeting to address them.

Several other resolutions were reached during the meeting including retaining and consistent update of the electronic monitoring sheet that was introduced to monitor and track, in real time, the processing and movement of trucks within the yard, be retained and updated consistently.

The goal is to clear the existing backlog of trucks, prevent further disruptions, and restore seamless service delivery to all stakeholders,” KRA said.

Further evaluations and necessary actions will be undertaken to address any underlying issues identified during the engagement,” it added.

KRA further said it remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in all its operations.

It noted that any conduct that undermines public trust or compromises service delivery was unacceptable and will be dealt with decisively.

All concerns relating to staff conduct and operational inefficiencies will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate disciplinary or corrective measures will be taken where necessary,” KRA said in response to claims of its officers engaging in corruption.

KRA maintains a zero-tolerance policy on corruption and misconduct and reaffirms its commitment to fair and impartial enforcement of tax laws,” it added.
