Mudavadi Launches Pioneering NCLEX-RN Test Centre in Nairobi

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, inaugurated Nairobiโ€™s NCLEX-RN Test Centre.

During the event, Mudavadi was joined by Cabinet Secretary for Health Nakhumicha S. Wafula and Principal Secretary of Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni Muriuki.

This groundbreaking move signifies a departure from traditional practices, liberating Kenyan nurses from the necessity to undergo examinations in South Africa or India.

The fully-equipped NCLEX Centre is now operational, facilitating the administration of the National Council Licensure Examination โ€“ Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), mandatory for nurses seeking licensure in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Further, the establishment of the NCLEX Centre in Nairobi anticipates transformative benefits, offering a substantial reduction in examination costs by over 50%.

Proactively addressing this initiative, the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has since developed a comprehensive NCLEX Preparatory course curriculum, empowering nurses to succeed on their first attempt.
