The National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) has assured farmers across the country of the availability of sufficient Topdressing fertiliser.
In a statement on Saturday, April 25, 2026, NCPB said distribution of the fertiliser is currently underway in areas where topdressing is ongoing.
The agency further said it is distributing over a million bags of the topdressing fertiliser with distributers directed to ensure it reaches all NCPB depots on time.
“Distribution of topdressing subsidized fertilizer to registered farmers is underway in NCPB depots within counties where topdressing of crops is ongoing,” NCPB said in part of its statement.
“In this regard, one million bags of CAN fertilizer is being distributed and suppliers are ensuring that the fertilizer is delivered to the depots,” it added.

Meanwhile, the state agency revealed that since the beginning of the 2026 Long Rains Subsidized Fertilizer Programme, 2.7 million bags of topdressing fertilizer has already been redeemed by farmers.
It also called on farmers to be patient as the distribution exercise continues.
Most maize farmers in the North Rift region are currently topdressing the crop.
There has been concerns over lack of the fertiliser at the depots in the region.
The latest statement by NCPB will however calm farmers’ nerves with the hope the fertiliser will be availed at their nearest depot before it’s too late.
