PS Mary Muthoni Hails Rotary International’s Contributions to Kenya’s Public Health Sector

Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni has lauded Rotary International for its extraordinary contributions to Kenya’s public health sector.

Speaking at the Centennial Foundation Gala Award Dinner held in Nairobi, PS Muthoni highlighted Rotary’s pivotal role in eradicating polio, improving maternal health, and strengthening pandemic preparedness.

Rotary has been a steadfast partner in enhancing health outcomes for our communities. This partnership also embodies the spirit of collaboration that drives sustainable change,” she said.

The gala celebrated Rotary’s 100 years of transformative service in Africa, honouring the contributions of Paul Harris Fellows as well as Major Donors who have championed healthcare initiatives across Kenya.

The event followed a series of impactful medical camps conducted in seven regions across the country, culminating in specialized interventions at Pumwani Maternity Hospital, underscoring Rotary’s commitment to serving underserved populations.

Meanwhile, Rotary International President, Dr. Stephanie Urchick, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to Universal Health Coverage, mental health advocacy, and addressing climate-related health challenges.

She also emphasized the importance of the partnership with Kenya’s Ministry of Health in advancing sustainable health systems.
