President William Ruto is this week expected to visit the North Rift region for a three-day development tour.
According to an itinerary seen by Uasin Gishu News, the President will be in the region from this Thursday to Saturday.
The tour, which will take him to three counties, will kick off in Elgeyo Marakwet and conclude in Uasin Gishu.
He will also tour Trans Nzoia County.
During the tour, the President is scheduled to launch several projects.
Which projects will Ruto launch in Elgeyo Marakwet?
Ruto’s first day will take him to Liter Girls, Kerio Valley Technical Training Institute, Kerio Valley KMTC as well as issue land title deeds within the Marakwet West subcounty.
He will later launch Kipkundul-Kabyego-Kamalel Road and Kapcherop TTI – both in Marakwet West.
The Head of State will conclude his first day in Trans Nzoia County with the launch of Kitale-Kapenguria-Morpus Road.
Projects Ruto will tour in Uasin Gishu
Ruto will be in Uasin Gishu County for the remaining two days. On the first day, he will tour Kimuri Dam, Ngeria TTI, and Kerita Dam as well as launch Cheboror Last Mile Electricity Connectivity.
On the second day, the president will officially open Turbo sub-county offices and Turbo TTI, launch the Kapkatet Last Mile Electricity Connectivity as well as Moi’s Bridge – Matunda Water Project.
He will also launch the Soy-Kilimani-Turbo/Likuyani Road before finalizing the visit to a tour of the Kidiwa Affordable Housing on the outskirts of Eldoret City.
Uasin Gishu leaders have already started preparations for the tour.
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim, Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat and His Turbo counterpart visited Moi’s Bridge – Matunda Water Supply Project that the Head of State will launch.
“This evening, I visited Maanzini area in Turbo Sub County and Moi’s Bridge – Matunda water supply project in Mlimani, Kapkures Ward, to assess the ongoing launch preparations ahead of President William Ruto’s working tour to our county on Thursday,” Bii said in a post on his Facebook page.
“These key projects highlight our commitment to enhancing infrastructure and improving water access for our communities,” he added.
