Samuel Chepkong’a Retains Leadership Position at Committee of Delegated Legislation

Ainabkoi Member of Parliament Samuel Chepkong’a and his Gichugu counterpart Robert Gichimu have successfully retained their positions as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, respectively, of the Committee on Delegated Legislation.

Both lawmakers were re-elected unopposed to continue in their leadership roles, which they have held since the beginning of the current Parliament.

In his acceptance speech, Chepkong’a expressed his gratitude to the committee members for their continued support.

He thanked them for entrusting him with another term as Chairperson and reiterated the importance of teamwork moving forward.

I thank you for the faith you have shown in my leadership by entrusting me with yet another term as the chairperson of this esteemed committee. We have indeed supported one another, and I want us to continue with the same team spirit until we complete our terms as Members of the 13th Parliament,” said the MP.

I am very grateful for your support and your continued support. I look forward to working with you to ensure that we discharge our mandate as members of this critical committee as a team. I thank you very much,” he added.

Gichimu also expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him by his colleagues.

He assured Chepkong’a of his unwavering support and emphasized the importance of maintaining the strong teamwork that has defined the committee’s work during the previous sessions.

Thank you for electing me as your committee Vice-Chairperson. I believe that if we continue with the kind of teamwork we have exhibited in the last two sessions, we will be able to deliver on our mandate,” said the Gichugu legislator.

MP Julius Sunkuli, speaking on behalf of the committee members, congratulated Chepkong’a and Gichimu for retaining their leadership positions.

He observed that their unopposed re-election demonstrated the committee’s high confidence in their leadership.

Your retaining your seats unopposed shows that members of this committee have alot confidence in your leadership. This just goes a long way to show that you have done a good job, and you should continue doing the same,” said Hon. Sunkuli.

He further praised the collaborative spirit within the committee, pointing out that members have worked together despite political differences.

Under your leadership, friendship has thrived among members, regardless of our political affiliation. We have worked as comrades, and I have no doubt that we will accomplish much under your leadership and the friendship of your Vice-Chairperson, who blends very well with the committee and indeed with my colleagues here,” added Sunkuli.
