Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has come to the aid of a 39-year-old mother from Lemook Soko who has endured nearly two decades of chronic illness.
He bought her a motorbike which he says will now serve as her “lifeline” to hospital and daily life.
In a Facebook post on Friday, June 3, 2026, Sudi detailed the story of Edna Chepkoech Lagat of Kapseret Constituency, Uasin Gishu County.

According to the MP, Lagat lost her sight in 2017, but her health struggles began much earlier.
“Since 2004 she has gone through 16 abdominal surgeries for different illnesses. Colon and uterus complications have kept her in and out of hospital,” Sudi wrote.
He added that Lagat has been admitted to ICU eight times, and has lived with a chronic clotting condition since 2008.
Despite the setbacks, Sudi said Lagat “has carried her family from Lemook Soko, refusing to be reduced to her medical file.”
How Oscar Sudi met Edna Chepkoech Lagat
The MP said he met Lagat while commissioning projects in Kapseret. Her only request, he noted, was for a motorbike to help her get to hospital for treatment.
“I bought her the motorcycle and enrolled her two children in school, one in Form 3 and the other in Form 4,” Sudi stated.

He said the motorbike is now more than transport for Lagat.
“Today that bike is more than transport. It is her lifeline to medication, appointments, and daily bread,” he wrote.
“After 16 surgeries, 8 ICU stays, and years of illness, Edna is still standing, and now she moves forward with hope,” Sudi added in the post.
Lagat has two children, currently in Form 3 and Form 4, who have now been enrolled in school with Sudi’s support.
Kapseret Constituency is among areas in Uasin Gishu where local leaders have in recent months focused on health and education interventions for vulnerable families.
