KeRRA Advertises Tenders for 7 Rural Roads, Including Burnt Forest–Kipkaren Upgrade in Uasin Gishu

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has invited bids for the upgrading of seven rural roads to bitumen standard across four counties, with Ainabkoi Constituency set to benefit from the inclusion of the Burnt Forest–Chepngor–Kipkaren Road.

Works are listed under Tender Notice for Upgrading of Various Road Projects – LOT 12 and will be funded by the Government of Kenya through the Development Vote.

The specific project for Uasin Gishu is upgrading to Blbitumen standard of Burnt Forest Chepngor Kipkaren Road

Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkonga welcomed the announcement on Facebook.

Good News for Ainabkoi! We are pleased to announce that Burnt Forest–Chepngor–Kipkaren Road (RWC 1050) will be upgraded to Bitumen Standard. Together, we continue to witness meaningful infrastructure development that is transforming our constituency,” the MP said.

Which roads has KeRRA advertised tenders;

Other roads advertised are:

  • Kamoiwo – Kabisaga – Ndalat | Nandi County
  • Chepnoet – Kabiemit Road | Nandi County
  • Kimbo – Matangini/Gwa Kairu Road | Kiambu County
  • Ngaramiye – Nyarugumu and KUHS Loop Roads | Kiambu County
  • Ndarugu – Nyacaba – Kimuchu Primary | Kiambu County

KeRRA says bidding is open to National Construction Authority (NCA) category 3 or 4 contractors.

There will be an “Open but Mandatory” site visit at the KeRRA Regional Office – Uasin Gishu.

Bids close and open on 16th July, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Tender documents can be downloaded from http://www.kerra.go.ke from 3rd 2026.

Residents along the Burnt Forest–Kipkaren corridor have long raised concerns over poor road conditions affecting transport of agricultural produce and access to markets.
