The County Government of Uasin Gishu, under the visionary leadership of Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii, is intensifying efforts to enhance healthcare delivery through strategic partnerships and targeted capacity building.
As part of a broader agenda to improve grassroots healthcare, the Department of Health Services, partnering with Moi University’s Africa Health Collaborative Project and the Mastercard Foundation, organised an intensive training program that concluded on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
The training brought together health facility in-charges and committee members from Ainabkoi and Kesses sub-counties, equipping them with essential skills to strengthen governance and service delivery in their respective health centres.
Sessions focused on vital areas such as financial reporting, record keeping, documentation, and auditing critical components that ensure transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency in public health facilities.

Speaking at the close of the program, County Primary Healthcare Coordinator Collete Chirchir and Professor Joseph Lagat from Moi University emphasised the importance of adopting sound financial management practices.
They urged participants to institutionalise routine audits and accurate reporting as tools to improve service delivery and restore public trust in the health system.
The Africa Health Collaborative Project is anchored on three key pillars: health employment, health entrepreneurship, and health ecosystems. Through curriculum development and tailored trainings, the initiative aims to equip healthcare workers with the practical skills and knowledge needed to meet the demands of a dynamic health environment.
This initiative underscores Governor Bii’s steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare to every resident built on the foundation of well-trained personnel, empowered communities, and efficiently run facilities.
