The County Government of Uasin Gishu is developing a new framework aimed at enhancing efficiency in the repair of rain-damaged roads across all wards.
The prolonged heavy rainfall has affected many areas in the North Rift region, causing significant damage to road infrastructure.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, while appearing before the County Assembly Liaison Committee chaired by Deputy Speaker Sarah Malel and Majority Leader Julius Sung, the County Executive Committee Member for Roads, Abraham Serem—accompanied by Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui and his team—said that the ambitious road upgrade and rehabilitation program will further boost both rural and urban infrastructure in the affected areas.

Their discussions focused on project implementation and equity, funding allocation, prioritisation, and accountability to ensure success and tangible impact for road users.
Uasin Gishu County plans to expand its rural and urban road network through the new program, significantly improving connectivity and supporting economic growth.
The initiative is spearheaded by Governor Dr Jonathan Bii and the County Executive Committee Member for Roads.
