Allies of Deputy President William Ruto continue to react to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s accusations against his deputy.
President Kenyatta, speaking during Labour Day Celebrations hit out at the DP for opting to blame the government for challenges the country was facing rather than offering solutions.
“Instead of offering advice on how to improve on my shortcomings as a leader, you are in markets insulting me. Help me reduce the problem, as opposed to pointing an accusing finger,” Uhuru said angrily.

DP Ruto responded sarcastically, blaming the President for taking away his role as a principal assistant.
The DP however said he was just a call away should the President need him.
“Sorry my boss. I feel your pain. Those you assigned my responsibilities and ‘project’ mzee have let you down miserably. They bangled [sic] our big 4, killed our party and wasted your second term. They are useless. Boss, am available. Just a phone call away,” read part of DP Ruto’s tweet.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s sentiments have since elicited mixed reactions, with many of the DP allies saying the Head of State had himself to blame.
They made reference to an executive order, which they said transferred Ruto’s powers to the Interior Cabinet Secretary.
In his response, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi claimed the President had told his deputy that he does not need him any more long time ago.

“From 2013 to 2017, tulifanya kazi vizuri, lakini wewe ulitufukuza…na usitudanganye, wewe uliita Ruto ukamwambia unataka kazi peke yako,” Sudi said in a video he shared on his Facebook page.
The vocal MP said things started going wrong for the country after DP Ruto and allies were chased out of key positions.
“Don’t blame poor economy on Russian-Ukraine war, the economy had deteriorated even before Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

And with barely three months to the end of the president’s second term, Sudi says they are ready to help him salvage the situation the best they can should he (President Uhuru) reach out to them.
“Kwa roho safi omba msamaha, utuite utuambie tusameheane. Sisi ni binadamu tutakuskiza. Ile tuta-salvagave tunaeza savlage ikiwezekana,” said the Kapseret MP.
