The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has asked police officers to disregard reports that they are seeking to hire more officers.
DCI, in a post on its official social media pages says it has not announced any vacancies.
There has been reports in sections of media that the investigative agency was looking to recruit more officers to join them.

Following the reports, DCI notes it had received overwhelming requests from police officers expressing interest to join them.
But the DCI’s director of personnel has urged them to disregard communication.
The communication was inviting officers to submit their applications to join the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
“Overwhelming requests have continued to be received over the last few days with officers from across the country submitting their applications,” DCI said in a statement.
“While the Directorate would wish to welcome more officers to its family, the communication did not originate from our headquarters but from overzealous officers eager to join the Directorate,” it added.
The DCI is one of the Departments at the National Police Service (NPS) mandated to investigate criminal cases.
It is led by the Director General with he current one being George Kinoti.

DCI headquarters are along Kiambu Road, in Nairobi, and has police officers spread across each of the 47 devolved units.
