Back pain is the most common medical complaint that many people experience in their daily life. Back pain varies from muscle aching to a shooting, burning, or stabbing sensation.
However, many people may not know the reasons why they have back pains regularly without notice.
Below are some of the reasons that may be causing back pain;
Age
As you add more years to adulthood, back pain becomes more common. This is because as you grow, the intervertebral discs start losing water and drying out, as it shrinks, it adds more pressure to the joints which in turn causes inflammation and can lead to back pains.

Muscle or Ligament Strain
Straining your muscles can cause back pain. Muscles can be strained when you lift heavy objects during workouts or daily duties or adopting a poor sleeping position can cause muscle strain which in turn may lead to back pain. Constant strain on your back can cause painful muscle spasms.
Lack of Exercise
Exercise makes your body active. When you relax from doing exercise for a long time, the body muscles at your back become weak and stiffer and can cause back pain. Regular exercises can strengthen your back and allow your muscles to work better. Swimming or walking can be a good exercise that does not strain your muscles and can help reduce back pain.
Excess Body Weight
Look at it from this angle, the strongest muscles are at the back of your body. When you gain weight, excess body weight puts extra stress on your back. At some point, your body may change positioning by bending forward hence straining your muscles.

Poor Sleeping Posture
Many health problems come along with wrong sleeping posture. If you wake up feeling the pain that you never had before going to bed, then it may be because of your sleeping posture. Positioning yourself in a position that may result in straining of a muscle, will probably lead to back pain. Adopt a sleeping posture that keeps your spine aligned and relaxed.
