Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim announced a significant re-assignment of its chief officers.
In a statement issued on Monday, July 14, 2025, Chelilim said the move is aimed at bolstering efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of public services across the county.
The changes affect at least six chief officers.
Mary Kerich, formerly of Lands and Physical Planning, will now head the Housing and Urban Development department while Julius Koech transitions from Housing and Urban Development to Lands and Physical Planning.
Abraham Kiptalam Bureti, who was serving in ICT, E-Government and Innovation department, has been moved to Agriculture and Agribusiness.

In another change announced Governor Chelilim, Nathan Korir, previously in Economic Planning, will now oversee ICT, E-Government and Innovation while Elphas Kessio moves from Agriculture and Agribusiness to Cooperatives and Enterprise Development.

Governor Chelilim emphasised the rationale behind the changes, stating that the re-assignments were enacted “in a bid to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of public service.”
Abraham Kiptalam Bureti has also been appointed to lead the Livestock and Fisheries department.
The changes, which takes effect immediately, are expected to streamline operations and ensure improved service delivery to the residents of Uasin Gishu County.

Chelilim had reshuffled his Cabinet in May 2025 which saw two County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) reshuffled.
He also appointed former KASS FM presenter Robert Kemei as the new Sports CECM.
