Egerton University has received a boost of Ksh2 Million from Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), towards its kitty of environmental conservation.
This was announced on January 20, 2023, during the Launch of Mau-Egerton cross-country at the ARC Hotel.
The cross-country shall be held in February 25, 2023.
“I am happy to receive this cheque from our partner and this is a testament that the University is committed and working with stakeholders to improve the human habitat,” the Vice-chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage said.
Renown International athlete Faith Chepkeng’etich, the University’s brand ambassador said: “I am proud to be associated with Egerton University. They have supported me in my career as a sports person and they have never stopped walking with me. Let’s work together to improve the University and the environment we live in.”
Further, the guests who came for the only environmental conservation cross country launch dubbed #Mau-Run8thEdition later planted trees across the University to mark the day.
Nakuru County Government led by County Executive Committee Member in charge of Environment by Dr. Maara donated 2,000 seedlings of indigenous trees, among other commitments to collaborate with the University.
Other partners for the cross-country are Narok County Government, Bomet County government, Athletics Kenya, as well as Kenya Forests Services (KFS) among others.
