Eldoret’s Tisap 7s Postponed after Change in National 7s Circuit Calendar

By Mahlon Lichuma

The earlier set dates for the Sevens circuit have been changed by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).

In the new calendar, the Dala 7s will replace the Tisap 7s in hosting the National 7s circuit kick-off matches.

Eldoret is featured to host the semifinals of the Circuit in a challenge commonly known as Tisap 7s in early September after the changes were made.

The Tisap 7s challenge will be their first since 2018 when it was called the Sepetuka 7s.

The postponement was highly influenced by the various national activities set to happen in the soon-to-be-elevated city.

According to the revised rugby calendar, the circuit will commence on July 1, 2023, after a highly intensified Embu 7s where Strathmore Leos defended their title against the defending national 7s champions Menengai Cream.

The Circuit features different major towns in Kenya and such given names responding to the venues.

Nairobi, Nakuru and Mombasa cities will each host at least one of the series.
