Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has nominated 16 individuals to serve as County Chief Officers, officially forwarding their names to the county assembly for vetting and approval.
The executive communication, dated May 25, 2026, was received by the Office of the County Assembly Clerk on Monday, before being channeled to the Office of the Speaker on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, for formal tabling.
The nominations are aligned with Section 45 of the County Government Act of 2012, which mandates the governor to appoint chief officers with the approval of the county assembly.
According to Governor Natembeya, the prospective officers are expected to spearhead key portfolios across agriculture, infrastructure, finance, and social sectors.

“Pursuant to Section 45 of the County Government Act of 2012, I have nominated the persons named below and hereby submit them for vetting and approval,” Natembeya stated in his official letter addressed to County Assembly Clerk Moses Lupao.
The nominees reflect a strategic distribution across the county’s sub-counties, including Saboti, Kwanza, Cherangany, Endebess, and Kiminini.
Who are the new Trans Nzoia Chief Officers?
Among the key dockets, Barasa Charles Wasike of Saboti has been nominated to lead the Agriculture & Irrigation sector , while Ben Kwatemba from Cherangany has been tapped for the critical Economic Accounting & Procurement portfolio.
Infrastructure and land development roles saw Mark Mulunda Khamila nominated for Public Works & Energy , and Martin Muzungu Bunyasi selected for Lands, Housing, Physical Planning & Urban Development.
Education and vocational portfolios went to Daniel Chakulu Masinde and Fred Mang’eni, respectively.
